The Story

Hazy West Coast Simcoe IPA
6.9% ABV
Tasting Notes: Melon Medley, Dank Berry, Kumquat, Orange Julius, Tropical Flowers
16 oz. cans

The bitterness and structure of a West Coast IPA, with the haze and aroma of an East Coast IPA. An ideal vehicle to showcase our favorite O.G. IPA hop, Simcoe. The first recipe by the newest member of our brew crew. That's Slippery Slope in a nutshell.

It's no accident that James would debut with a Hazy West Coast IPA. After all, he arrived at Threes from Cellarmaker Brewing (San Francisco, CA), who popularized the style. Select Simcoe hops lend big grapefruit and soft stone fruit notes with hints of pine. A special variety of Chico yeast (regarded as the West Coast beer yeast, popularized by Sierra Nevada) imparts a stable hop haze without eclipsing the beer's flavor.
Simcoe is unique in that it's well-suited to receive the single-hop treatment, yet dynamic enough to flex to both West Coast and East Coast IPA styles. It's a component in each of the hop blends in our flagship NEIPA and West Coast IPA.
